Opinion Survey on the Approval Process for Animal Experiments
Dear Sir or Madam,
With this survey, the German Centre for the Protection of Laboratory Animals (Bf3R) at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) aims to identify the reasons that have contributed to the reduction in the number of laboratory animals in recent years. In addition, we seek to establish an opinion survey on the approval process for animal experiments. Based on the results, possibilities will be explored to ensure both the satisfaction of the groups involved in the approval process and a high level of animal welfare.
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH) welcomes the survey and hopes for broad participation.
Target group
The survey is aimed at individuals who have been or are currently directly involved in animal experiments. This includes, among others, researchers who have conducted or supervised animal experiments, animal welfare officers, and animal facility managers.
Time frame
Answering the questions takes approximately 10 minutes.
Personal benefits and risks
With your responses, you can help create a comprehensive picture of animal research in Germany. Your data will be used to prepare a report for the Federal Government, which will also outline potential areas for improvement.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and involves no personal risks.
About the Bf3R and the BfR
The German Centre for the Protection of Laboratory Animals (Bf3R) is part of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). It coordinates nationwide activities with the aim of limiting animal experiments to the minimum necessary and ensuring the best possible protection for laboratory animals. The BfR is a scientifically independent institution within the remit of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH). It advises the Federal Government and the federal states on issues relating to food, chemical, and product safety. The BfR conducts its own research on topics closely related to its assessment tasks.
We look forward to your participation!
